Destination: Mumbai – Aurangbad – Udaipur – Mount Abu – Zainabad – Kota – Chittorgarh – Udaipur – Jodhpur – Jaisalmer – Bikaner – Wankaner – Ahmedabad – Mumbai. .
DAY 01: Mumbai: On arrival in Mumbai you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Your guide will give you the necessary service vouchers and information about the tour.
DAY 02: Mumbai: We make a late start today and ease into the tour with an afternoon city tour of Mumbai, the bustling commercial capital of India and home to the fabulous drama scene that is Bollywood. We visit the Jahangir Art Gallery and the impressive Gateway to India. We spend the evening strolling through the markets, or you can simply relax.
DAY 03: Aurangbad: Morning trip to the Elephanta Caves, a must for any visitor to India. In the afternoon we fly to Aurangabad, the city named after India’s last Mughal Emperor, Arungzeb. On arrival we transfer to your hotel.
DAY 04: Aurangbad: Today we visit the Ajanta Caves. These fascinating caves date back to the 2nd century BC and reveal in sequence the life story of Lord Buddha. These caves are also believed to hold a temple mount that is a replica of Lord Shiva’s ancestral home, and there is much remarkable art presented here that tells the story.
DAY 05: UDAIPUR: Our next excursion is to the Ellora Caves. These caves date back to the 4th century AD and hold 34 hewn shrines representing Buddhist, Hindu and Jain Art. In the afternoon we drive to the airport to connect with your flight to Udaipur, in the colourful state of Rajasthan. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 06: UDAIPUR: Your tour today takes in many of the historical and ornate palaces of the beautiful and romantic city of Udaipur. In the evening, take a boat ride on the Pichola Lake, where the romantic ambience is sure to inspire.
DAY 07: MOUNT ABU: Driving to the highest point on the Aravali Range, we reach Mount Abu. After checking into your hotel we head on to the Dilwar Temples. These Jain temples date back to the 11th century BC. We will also visit Lake Nakki at 1200m above sea level.
DAY 08: ZAINABAD: We drive to the small town of Zainabad where we stay at a charming family-run hotel.
DAY 09: WANKANER: Journeying on, we reach Wankaner. This afternoon is free to relax as you please.
DAY 10: WANKANER: A day to explore the beautiful scenery on horseback. You can ride through the surrounding countryside, passing through the villages and hamlets of rural India.
DAY 11: AHMEDABAD: Travelling south and leaving the state of Rajasthan behind we reach Ahmedabad. After settling into your hotel we visit the Ghandi Ashram and the Jama Masjid.
DAY 12: AHMEDABAD: We spend the day visiting the Calico Museum of Textiles, one of the best kept historical museums in India. Later we visit the Vishala Utensils Museum.
DAY 13: BHAVANAGAR: Continuing southward, we drive to Bhavangar and check into your hotel. There is time to visit the Palitana Temples, the most revered of all Jain temples.
DAY 14: MUMBAI: Drive to the airport to connect with your flight to Mumbai. You are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 15: MUMBAI: Morning transfer to the airport or station for your onward journey. Tour ends.
